Both cars aligned
Henry at LoFi Garage aligned both the 240Z and the 330i — the 330i on a semi-aggressive street/track setup. $300 for both cars, and another shop tour along the way.

What happened
Took both cars to Henry at LoFi Garage for an alignment — the 240Z and the 330i, side by side on the lift.
For the 330i, I had Henry set it up with a semi-aggressive street/track alignment — enough camber and balance to be honest on a track day without making it miserable to drive every day.
While I was there I met the owner of Fitted Garage in Sacramento. He looked over the 240Z and complimented it, then walked me through his shop — some really impressive projects going on in there.
The numbers: $300 for both cars. I posted $150 of it to the 330i's build budget.
What I learned
- —Alignment is the cheapest performance you can buy. A semi-aggressive street/track setup turns the daily driver into something that will hold a line on the weekend without wrecking the tires on the commute.
- —Every shop visit turns into something — a compliment on the 240Z, a tour, another connection in the car community around Sacramento.
The car
1972 Datsun 240Z and 2002 BMW E46 330i — both freshly aligned at LoFi Garage, the 330i on a semi-aggressive street/track setup.
The people
Henry at LoFi Garage did the alignments and took care of both cars. The owner of Fitted Garage in Sacramento walked me through his shop and complimented the 240Z. We are starting to get the look right, thanks to help from friends.

Next improvement
Next on the build plan: sport springs, then the manual swap and the exhaust.
